however improbable, must be the truth." -

Equipment-
Below you will find some of the
equipment we are currently using. We are always upgrading and
buying more tools all the time, so not all items we currently
employ may be seen here. We will from time to time give our
reviews on some of the items we use as well as a brief
description as to why we use each one. Hopefully this page will
do two things: one show potential clients the type of scientific
data we are able to collect, as well as possibly help guide new
and potential budding ghost hunters into the right direction as
for equipment they may want to look at adding to their
inventory. |

K2 Meter
The famous K2 meter. This is the instrument
seen on such shows as Sci-Fi's Ghost Hunters. This instrument is
used to measure Electromagnetic Fields. The theory behind it's
use is that spirit's disrupt the magnetic field, and the K2
meter, lights up accordingly. In addition, the meter has been
very successful in "contacting" spirits. The investigator asks
questions, and in instances of "contact" the lights will light
up according to the answers. |
 |
Lufton
EMF Meter
Again, if you are a fan of the show Ghost
Hunter's, you will recognize this meter as well. While it serves
nearly the same purpose as the K2, this meter is considered by
many to be much more accurate, and precise. In addition, it
doesn't have the lights of the K2, so the "instant
communication" as has been evidenced with the K2 is not
possible. And it is slightly higher, so there are trade off's
considering each. |

Cell
Sensor
The Cell Sensor is also an EMF gauge,
similar to the above pair. However, this instrument features a
probe, which allows the investigator a more pin point way of
zeroing in on the anomaly. In addition, this meter is much
cheaper and makes an ideal starter gauge for the budding ghost
hunter. This meter also features a low and high pass switch, to
help rule out electrical interference. Also, the meter is ideal
for night searches with its audible alarm as well as bright red
flashing light. |

Digital
Voice Recorder
For Electronic Voice Phenomon ( EVP's) and
disembodied voices, this is your best bet. We use both the
Olympus VN4100PC and RCA RP5120 models. Both units have easy usb
connections to upload evidence to the computer for analysis. The
digital recorders are much easier to convert, as well as
limiting the possibility of contaminating the evidence with
faulty tape or gear noise being picked up by cassette recorders. |
 |
Digital
Thermometer
Indispensable in helping to set base line
readings, these are relatively cheap, but are an investigators
best friend in helping prove cold spots in a location. This unit
features not only a temperature reading, but also shows relative
humidity. The theory behind temperature fluctuations are ghost
pull energy from surrounding air in the form of heat, thus
leading to "cold spots". Be sure to take baseline readings, as
well as keeping a close eye on the temps throughout an
invistegation. |
 |
Non-Contact Infrared Thermometer
Used in conjunction with a digital
thermometer, to help locate and isolate potential reasons for
cold spots, such as drafts from windows, or doors. This handy
little instrument has the ability of measuring temperatures from
across the room. Some investigators also believe that the
thermometer can be used to pinpoint cold spots in a room, and
the possibility of spirits. |

IR Video
Camcorders.
The Infrared video recorder is THE best
source of documentation during an investigation. While
recordeing in total darkness, the camera , theory states has the
ability to possibly pick up things the human eye may miss. In
addition, it is very difficult to debunk video evidence when
presented. We have several differnt units, but all are Sony's,
as there optics seem to be much better as well as the IR
pickups. |
 |
Camera's
( Digital and film)
Almost as important is a good quality
camera. While you may be able to use cheaper cameras to begin
with, without a doubt, look to upgrading this piece early. The
optics in the upper level camera's are by far superior and will
eliminate many of the false positives. We use Canon camera's,
both film and digital. Also not a bad idea to invest in a higher
quality flash than the one supplied with the camera body. They
are simple hot shoe hook ups and very easily adapted to varying
situations. |
Other things to
remember to bring to an investigation-
Pen and Paper- make notes as to time, temp, moon phases,
etc..... document everything in the investigation
Extra Batteries- Always have plenty of spares batteries for each
piece of equipment- you never know when a battery may suddenly
go "dead"
Flashlights- Most of the investigations will be done in the
dark. These can be invaluable aides.
Compass- Works as a EMF device. Sometimes during EMF spikes, the
needle can aide in proof of magnetic disruption.
