White Ghost Horse Legend
In March of 2009, CSI got the
opportunity to investigate a local "haunted" spot near our base
of operations. Members Terry and Dwayne were very familiar with
the spot, as they had investigated this area years ago, before
forming CSI and without any equipment. This time they would
bring in all of the gadgets, as well as new member Stacey. The
crew would spend three separate nights investigating the area,
over the next three weeks, then go through all the evidence to
see what was captured. |
The
claims and the stories- The
location is a former Revolutionary battle site, as well as
thought to be near former slave quarters. Artifacts found on the
property include ball and chains to help support this idea. Many claims of the
paranormal have been passed down through stories from the family
and friends that have had strange experiences over the years.
Some of these are as follows.
A gentleman was cutting timber in the area, when his chainsaw shut off. He
tried over and over to crank it, but it would not start. Then he
suddenly heard a horse and someone or something charging towards
him. He jumped into his vehicle, tried to close the door, but
the door would not close. He was so frightened he drove out of
the woods, with door still open. When he got to the highway, he
got out, checked the chainsaw. It started on the first pull. In
addition the door would now close with no problems. He vowed
never to go back.
Another person was cutting trees in the area, when his chainsaw
likewise stopped running as he finished the last cut. He heard what he thought to be a horse
whinny, and the tree he was trying to down then fell uphill.
In the 1970's, another gentleman was hunting on the land near
sunset, when he saw what appeared to be a white horse in the
distance. The only problem with the horse was he was
transparent. He glimpsed the horse briefly, and then it was
gone.
Lastly, in the early 90's, the founders of CSI Dwayne and
Terry, were walking the property late one night when they were
suddenly startled by a rustle in the woods. Both stopped, and
tried to look into the dense wood line. Suddenly a horse was
heard. It whinnied, then blew. The sounds came from less than 20
feet from their location. Immediately the two bore their
flashlights on to the location, but nothing was seen. The two
walked over to the source of the sounds, but no movement was
heard, nor was the horse sighted.
Other incidents included several sightings of a white,
translucent horse, hearing a bugle call, feelings of being
watched, and footsteps following people through the area, that
would stop when the person would hear them and then stop.
The Investigation-
We broke the investigation down into
three separate dates. One per week, for three weeks-
3-3-09, 3-12-09, and 3-19-09. Each investigation began at app
7:30 with a meeting and checking of equipment as well as reviews
of the claims and analysis of what had been collected
previously, then the actual investigations began at or around 9
pm, as sun set. Each investigation was wrapped up at 1am, and
information was gathered for review.
The Team-
Dwayne Sims, Terry Thomas, Stacey Balckmon
The Findings-
Two of the the three nights were very eventful, while the third
and final night was quiet. On the first two nights, we caught a
few interesting pictures, recorded a strange EVP, and had a few
personal experiences. (The pictures and EVP's are in the
evidence section below.)
The Evidence-
Here is what we collected over the three day investigations.
- Pictures- a gallery of the strange lights we
captured
Day one.
Day two.
Day three- nothing found.
